Summary

The West Kings Meadows Hydrogeological Landscape (HGL) is characterised by deeply weathered Jurassic dolerite forming a rolling landscape to the east of the steeper Reed HGL, formed on the same bedrock. This HGL is located in southern Launceston. This is an area of moderate rainfall (680 mm). It has a more subdued landscape expression and thicker regolith cover but the western part is similar in structure and rock type to the Reed HGL.

Typical lithologies for this HGL are deeply weathered Jurassic dolerite and fractured Jurassic dolerite, and in the east sedimentary rock.
